Justin Wheelock is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience from the University of Virginia in 2023, after completing an Associate’s from Laurel Ridge Community College in 2019. As an undergraduate researcher at UVA, he used scalp electroencephalography (EEG) to study episodic memory. After graduation, Justin joined the Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine as a Postgraduate Research Associate. There, his projects leveraged routinely collected clinical data to predict the risk of epilepsy following acute brain injury, a severe complication affecting many survivors. He is interested in studying the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive deficits after TBI and how recovery trajectories are shaped by socioeconomic and cultural factors. In his free time, Justin enjoys reading, creating art, playing guitar, learning languages, and trying new recipes.
